Tried taking my friend on a walk from Newick to Isfield in Sussex today but unfortunately both of us are intimidated by cows in a meadow 🙂 Managed to spot this beautifully bright orange azalea though so the short walk was worthwhile.
Beautiful pure white blossoms of the crabapple tree. Another tree that looks lovely in different seasonal dress.
My neighbours have a tiny garden but also includes the prettiest specimens. Snapped this pic of their Aubretias in a light drizzle this morning. Fortunately they are very tolerant of my strange photographic habits.
Was really pleased to come across a patch of Wild Garlic flowers today. They looked really pretty amongst the trees although it took some effort to avoid the stinging nettles to get this pic!
This common wildflower aka Dog Daisy is named after Hera, the Queen of Olympian gods in Greek mythology. It is also called the Maudlin Daisy because early Christians dedicated this flower to Mary Magdalen. The name Daisy comes from the Old English ‘dæges Ä“age’ or day’s eye. The petal-plucking game ‘He loves me, he loves me not’ is thought to have started with this flower.
Loads of these delicate flowers blooming at the moment in a variety of colours. Spotted this lovely colour in Fairwarp today and found it very hard to take the photo because the wind kept blowing.
Field forget-me-not also known as the common forget-me-not, blue mouse-ear or scorpion grass. These were captured growing my lawn. It might be a weed but they are rather pretty up close.
