The California poppy also known as Eschscholzia californica looks a dramatic orange in the bright sunshine. Not usually the best time to take flower pics but seeing them swaying against the blue sky made me feel happy.

The brilliant blue colour of the cornflower really is eye-catching even in a field of meadow flowers. According to folklore, cornflowers were worn by young men in love; if the flower faded too quickly, it was taken as a sign that the man’s love was not returned.

Went hunting for a good spot to capture some lilac Cuckoo flowers but they seem to grow in the most difficult places. The sun was also just a bit too bright so took a pic of the white ones instead.
