Passion flower perfection
Passion Flower for Easter. One of my posts from last year. I was surprised to seemĀ them blooming in the UK as I thought it would be too cold.

I adore the delicate intricacy of the passion flower structure and this year the summer has been warm enough to get the vine to produce some fruit!

These beautifully intricate and complex flowers were viewed by early missionaries as a symbol of the crucifixion and were thought to represent theĀ Passion of Christ, hence its name. I find their construction fascinating and this vine grows opposite our front door on a neighbour’s fence.

Always loved the intricacy of this flower. Layers of complexity, symmetry and beauty.
