Hope blooms where flowers grow

“We each have a platform, access to tools, a change we’d like to make in the world around us. We each have a chance to connect, to see, to lead.” Seth Godin

This message inspired me this week to keep doing work that matters. When enough people care, beautiful things can happen in the world.

Flowers remind me of this hope.

Photographing daisies bring to mind carefree, happy days in the sunshine so I combined two of my favorites to produce one that expressed this hope visually.

May hope bloom where you are too!

A garden of Zinnias

Northern California got some rain yesterday and the garden loved it! The broody cloud cover just before the rain was an ideal time to admire the zinnia garden and take a few photos. Admiring their vibrant colors and eye-catching display I was reminded of this quote : “So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.” Jorge Luis Borges

Head Shots with a floral twist

I was fortunate enough to know a professional portrait photographer who could make me look good for my head shot in my online testimonial for the British College of Journalism.

Seeing that head shot gave me an idea for a series of the floral variety so here they are. Do you have a favorite?

A Pot of Red Geraniums

Red geraniums always remind me of the beautiful window boxes in France. Striking clusters of beauty against the backdrop of brick and mortar.

I purchased a pot of red geraniums to add some color to our yard. Here they are!

Fuchsias in Bloom

The flower that inspired a name for a color. The first two images were taken of a plant growing in a pot on a main road in Monterey, California. The third image is from the garden next door. Wherever they grow they provide a vibrant and eye-catching display.
