Potted Red Rose Surprise
Got back to my car after the school run this morning and discovered a gift bag containing a potted red rose next to my car. Such a lovely surprise!

Distracted by the Sweet Peas
Had lots to do today but got distracted by the beautiful shades and scent of a bouquet of Sweet Peas. My daughter picked them yesterday while visiting a kind grandmother that lives nearby.

Experiments with fallen blossoms
The viburnum opulus snowball growing in our yard is losing it’s blossoms fast and creating a shower of pretty white petals like confetti. Seeing them lying on the ground gave me an idea for a photo experiment and this is the result.

Horse Chestnut Tree Flowers
The Horse Chestnut trees are in flower at the moment although they are being battered about by the wind.
There is also the Red variety which seem to be slightly easier to photograph than the white version.
White Crabapple Blossoms
Beautiful pure white blossoms of the crabapple tree. Another tree that looks lovely in different seasonal dress.
White Bluebells
Delicate and dainty white bluebells.
Cuckoo flowers
Went hunting for a good spot to capture some lilac Cuckoo flowers but they seem to grow in the most difficult places. The sun was also just a bit too bright so took a pic of the white ones instead.
Wonderland of Windflowers
It’s the first time that I have seen Windflowers (Woodland anemones) blooming so prolifically in the woods, A wonderful sight hopefully to be repeated.
Chrysanthemum in ice cube
Was pleased to see how the flower held it’s colour even when frozen. Going to try the effect on different types now.
Crocuses are blooming again
Wonderful to the see the splash of colour appearing all over now.
