Bee in Himalayan Balsam

Himalayan Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) growing profusely along the banks of a river near Isfield. A non-native invasive plant introduced to Britain from the Himalayas as a garden plant in 1839, establishing in the wild by 1855. Also known as ‘Policeman’s helmet’ due to the shape of the flower.
