Tea Rose bush is blooming again

I had to do some significant pruning of the hybrid tea rose bush in the garden and was concerned about how it would recover in the drought. I am very happy to see that it is coping and producing lovely blooms again.

Pink Roses

The rose bushes seem to be competing with each other to produce the most blooms. They look so lovely and the nice thing is we can share the bounty with our neighbours who all received fresh bunches this week.

Pink and White Variegated Roses

There is a rather tall rosebush at our front door displaying the most stunning and fragrant pink and white blooms. It’s a prolific producer and now that I have a garden with 14 rose bushes I better learn how to take care of them! Any advice on rose care would be greatly appreciated.

Roses for the Lady Amy

I was really touched today by the comments and responses of a fellow blogger to my posts on roses. Seldom have I received such a heartfelt and warm response to my photographs and it was clearly from someone who is equally enraptured by the beauty of roses. Since my garden is alive with them at the moment I picked a few and put them in a vase just for her! So these are for you Lady Amy ! I am sure you will enjoy visiting her lovely blog Petals Unfolding ~ The Embrace of Love~ too.

Glorious Gardenias and Rambunctious Roses

The Gardenias in our garden are finally blooming. It’s not the happiest of plants as I think it’s struggling in the heat and low rainfall but I was pleased to see it had the energy to produce some blooms. The roses in comparison are blooming like crazy so had to take a few more photos of them.

Romantic White Roses

There are lovely white roses starting to bloom at our local park. I tried playing with the Photoshop Elements Orton effect and liked the dreamy romantic feel it gave the shots.

First roses blooming

I get so excited when I see buds and can’t wait for the flower to fully reveal itself. I have been watching the rosebushes closely and now the first one is in full bloom.

Rosebud Romance

Bought some flowers for my neighbour for Chinese New Year – yellow and red roses – but quickly had to take a few shots and try a few effects before I gave them away – shhh!
