Took this photo at the end of dog walk in Fairwarp. The pink was really striking after walking through the mellow hues of the browns and greens in the nearby woods.

Great Hairy Willowherb – Epilobium hirsutum
Took this pic on a walk through the Millenium Green. It is a tall plant covered in soft, downy hair. The purple-pink flowers have pale creamy centres and it was good to take the pic on a windless day
Bluebells are not always blue
It’s bluebell season again and they are blooming everywhere. Not an easy subject to capture though as they are so delicate that they move in the slightest breeze. Also they are not always blue – these pinkish lilac ones are rather pretty.

Bee in Himalayan Balsam
Himalayan Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) growing profusely along the banks of a river near Isfield. A non-native invasive plant introduced to Britain from the Himalayas as a garden plant in 1839, establishing in the wild by 1855. Also known as ‘Policeman’s helmet’ due to the shape of the flower.
