We had some desperately needed rain showers today and I dodged the raindrops to take a few pics of the droplets on the blooms. Then got cold and ran inside for a nice warm cup of tea!

The Roses just keep blooming and they have such beautiful shading that I just have to take a few more photos. I put some emphasis on the petals rather than the full bloom after being inspired by one of the winning entries for IGPOTY (International Garden Photographer of the Year).

Since there are so many photographs with flowers as their main subjects I have been thinking about ways to create unique images – so I started playing with petal arrangements. Then I started experimenting with colours on the petal arrangements – here are some of the results. Tell me what you think please.

The delicate blooms of Lisianthus are really lovely to behold and look a bit like roses but without the thorns. They have a romantic, dreamy look about them hence their popularity in wedding bouquets.

Got back to my car after the school run this morning and discovered a gift bag containing a potted red rose next to my car. Such a lovely surprise!
